Passive Video Balun (Terminal Type), Power Converted - Camera Side.
The purpose of a passive video balun is to send a video signal and power through a Cat5e cable, this type of balun is good for setups of up to 1000 feet. We offers a great passive video balun solution for your camera setup. This is great for small offices and home use at a great price due to cutting out expensive and heavy coaxial and power cables. It is also a great way to keep track of which cable belongs to which camera and in case of future maintenance, you would only be switching out a single Cat5e. Don't be fooled by other company's video baluns, 12V signals drop at about 300 feet. So if you run the cables too far, your cameras will not have enough power to operate. If you supply too much power such as an 18V, without a converter, you will burn your camera causing the project to more pricey that it needs to be. We carry several other video balun setups, in which some includes converters for longer distance setups.
